The Simcoe Lions Club has been a pillar of community service in Norfolk County since our founding in 1931. With a membership of nearly 100 dedicated individuals, the club operates under the motto “We Serve,” focusing our efforts on a wide range of local causes including youth sports, senior services, and healthcare.

Over the decades, we’ve donated more than $1,000,000 to local initiatives. Notable contributions include substantial funding for the Norfolk General Hospital—ranging from its ground-breaking in 1937 to a $150,000 pledge for emergency wing renovations—as well as the construction of the Simcoe Lions Ballpark in 1993, which remains a central hub for regional baseball and softball tournaments.

Beyond major infrastructure, the club is deeply involved in the daily fabric of Simcoe through hands-on volunteerism and diverse programming. We are well-known for our popular food truck, which serves “Dixie Dogs” at local events like the Norfolk County Fair to raise funds for the community. Simcoe Lions also champion essential health causes, such as local and international eyesight programs, and support specialized initiatives like Rainbow Lake for children with cancer (formerly Camp Trillium).

The club is currently leading a significant effort to revitalize Wellington Park, committing $100,000 and “sweat equity” to install a new central gazebo, ensuring that the town’s downtown greenspace remains a vibrant gathering place for future generations.
